Makueni Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Mr Joel Mwangala has expressed satisfaction with the good progress made so far on the construction of the 37 Competence Based Curriculum classrooms in 36 secondary schools in Makueni Sub-County.
Mwangala said so far, 2 classrooms have been completed while the other remaining ones are nearing completion with an average progress above 50 per cent in all CBC classes construction sites.
“By next week, two classes will be ready for use, while other 31 classes are nearing its completion with some expected to be completed in the next three weeks,” said Mwangala during a monitoring tour of construction CBC classrooms at Mwaani Girls in Wote.
Mwangala who chairs Makueni Sub County Development Implementation Coordination Committee, (SCDICC), added that plans are underway to support local contractors with finance in order to deliver their projects on time.
He lauded the local contractors for the good work they are demonstrating adding that the government will consider those who delivered quality works on time.
“In phase two of construction of CBC classrooms, the government will consider the local contractors who will deliver quality classrooms on time,” added Mwangala.
During the monitoring tour, the SCDICC team visited St John’s Malivani Secondary School, Makueni Boys High School, Kambi Mawe High School, Mwambani Secondary School and Mwaani Girls High School.
