Police in Narok town have launched a manhunt for a man suspected to have killed his wife at their house in Upper hill estate, Narok town.
Narok County Police Commander, Riko Ngare, said the suspect by the name Geoffrey Kang’ethe Njau, 28 had fled his house after committing the heinous crime and switched off his mobile phones to avoid being tracked by the police.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect married the deceased in 2021 and they were living together in a rental house at Upper hill estate before they separated a year ago.
The police boss said the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers, who visited the house of the suspect, found blood stains at the main door, the house windows, verandah and on a piece of a towel outside the house.
“The officers gained access to the house by breaking the padlock but they did not find the clothes which the suspect wore when he committed the offence and the suspect has since switched off his mobile phone,” he said.
Ngare called on the members of the public who have any information that could help apprehend the suspect to volunteer and give the information to the police, area chief or village elders.
The body of the deceased is lying at the Narok County Referral hospital morgue for preservation awaiting postmortem.
