Police in Mbooni West Subcounty have arrested a 40-year-old man for stabbing and killing his young brother aged, 34 during an altercation over a family dispute.
The Saturday 8pm incident occurred at Mumani Village in Ngai Location when the suspect stabbed his young brother several times on the chest and back killing him instantly.
Mbooni West Subcounty Police Commander Benson Makumbi confirmed the incident to the Press on Sunday saying the suspect is being held at Kikima Police Station.
“If you have family problems, you should not take the law into your hands. Report to the police to conduct investigations so that they can be assisted,” observed Makumbi.
While saying the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete, the subciunty police commander said the body of the deceased was taken to Mukuyuni Subcounty Hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting a post mortem.
The incident follows a related murder when another man stabbed his wife to death before hanging himself in Ngiluni Village in Mbooni East Subcounty.
