MP Vows to Support Talent

A Member of Parliament (MP) from Tharaka-Nithi County has vowed to continue supporting talent among the youth in his constituency besides encouraging them to acquire quality education through provision of timely bursaries.
Chuka-Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene popularly known as Pato will from 2019 include players with outstanding skills from local clubs in the constituency football team and give them an opportunity to interact with national teams.
Speaking during the final match between Kajiampau and Kibugua Youth Football clubs at Kibugua stadium on Sunday, Munene said his office is in the process of coming up with a constituency football team and will in due time provide it with the teams full sporting gear.
“We have identified quite a number of players who have outstanding skills and we will include them in the constituency team that will from next year; organize friendly matches against national teams,” said Mr. Munene.
The lawmaker said doing so will give the players vast exposure and also create opportunities for them to be coached by the teams.
“I will be inviting them to come and play against our team that will comprise the best talent sourced from the entire constituency,” he noted adding that in two years’ time he will have given all the teams full sporting gear.
Munene said his office will also continue supporting youth to access quality education through provision of timely bursaries.
He vowed to continue working with other leaders in bettering the lives of the locals.
Kibugua Youth FC and Kathutwa Ladies FC were crowned winners in the league organized by the CDF office and Football Federation Kenya (FKF) Chuka and Maara branch that attracted a total of 54 teams.
The MP gave the first four teams of both men and women jerseys, boots among other prizes.
