Mwingi North MP Nzengu retains seat

The Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu has won a second term after he was re-elected.

Nzengu alias Malili of the Wiper Party beat three other contestants for the seat John Munuve of Jubilee, Charles Mwalimu UDA and Patrick Muthui Mwangangi of ODM to emerge victorious following the Tuesday polls.

He was declared the victor in election results declared by the Mwingi North Constituency IEBC returning officer Martin Malonza at the Kyuso polytechnic tallying  this morning.

Nzengu garnered 23,560 , Munuve managed 17,989 votes,  Mwangangi 1,100 votes while Mwalimu got 1,218 votes.

The Returning Officer said the total number of valid votes cast during the parliamentary election were 43,792. Mwingi North constituency has 68,829 registered voters.

Nzengu thanked Mwingi North residents for giving him another chance to serve them.
