Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong’o has strongly urged area leaders to give him time to deliver on his promises to the residents.
Nyong’o without mentioning names said some politicians are judging his development track record yet he has not finished his five year term.
“I have good plans for Kisumu County; just give me time and support to accomplish my promises to the people of Kisumu,” he pleaded.
The governor was speaking in Nyakach constituency while commissioning a community borehole in Nyabondo.
He committed himself to fulfill his manifesto as promised before the elections, adding that his approach to development is on track.
He said the idea of devolution is to bring services closer to the people and called on the senate and National assembly to agree and pass the division on revenue bill.
“Let the two houses strike a common ground so that funds can be allocated to the Counties to initiate development at the grass root level,” he advised.
The governor added that he has introduced many projects in the county that have been of benefit to the residents.
“We have improved our infrastructure, health services, and offered several amenities to benefit our people. We are calling on for more funds from the government for effective service delivery,” said the governor.
