It is all systems go as preparations of the southern branch of the Agricultural Society of Kenya Show which is domiciled in Kisii town, Kisii County even as the number of exhibitors increase by over 30 percent.
Addressing the press in Kisii town yesterday, branch chairman Kepha Onduso said the event slotted for between 10th and 13th July has incorporated 7 Counties including the neighbouring Migori, Nyamira and Homabay counties among others.
Onduso noted that the preparations were going on in earnest by exhibitors including banking and learning institutions, the agricultural sector, saccos, and, various micro small and medium enterprises.
He said the show had attracted over 100 exhibitors including schools 4k clubs and ample entertainment among others that will benefit the competency Based Education system learners.
He also expressed hope that the 2025/2026 budget will allocate ample resources for agriculture saying the sector was the back bone of the country.
ASK Show Chief Executive Officer Batram Muthoka appreciated the preparations saying they were in line with the show theme whose focus is on sustainability, adoptability and resilience in the adverse effects of climate change.
Muthoka noted that collaboration with County government during the preparations is ensuring success of the event which had increased its exhibitors to 100 from 65.
He applauded the marketing strategy employed by the management team on the ground which led to improvement in the number of the exhibitions.
The CEO expressed optimism there would be between, 30 to 40 percent increase in the number of visitors between 9th and 13th next month.
He explained that the show had developed a plan in line with the county’s strategy to ensure visitors receive maximum benefit from the event.
