Trans Nzoia Gets more Covid Vaccines

Trans Nzoia county government has received 6000 additional more doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine that will enhance its capacity to further immunize a broader demographic of willing eligible residents.

Speaking at Kitale County Referral Hospital over the weekend, the CEC of Health, Clare Namenge said vaccination will follow the pre-registered list.

“Only those who were registered in advance will be vaccinated on their allocated appointment dates. We request the public to adhere to this directive,” Namenge said.

She said that vaccines will also be at sub county hospitals in the county to help ease congestion.

The national government during the first phase of the vaccination targeted healthcare workers, teachers, clergy and all persons aged 58 and above years.

According to Namenge, subsequent phases will include broader vaccination coverage to include all willing residents above the age of 18 subject to meeting the basic medical eligibility requirements.

She asked residents to visit sub county hospitals to get the jab.
