Construction of a new 15-classroom block at Muthurwa Comprehensive School in Kiambaa Constituency is progressing, with the project expected to improve the learning environment for pupils and teachers.
Kiambaa Member of Parliament (MP), John Njuguna, said the project was a significant investment that would transform the school’s learning environment, especially for learners and teachers.
The project is being undertaken through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), as part of ongoing efforts to improve learning infrastructure in public schools across Kiambaa Constituency.
The development comes amid a series of school infrastructure projects being undertaken in the constituency, including the construction and renovation of classrooms at various schools.
Earlier this month, the MP commissioned the construction of 15 new classrooms at Karura Comprehensive School, with 10 classrooms set to be constructed in the first phase and another five in the second phase.
“The works are part of our broader effort to create conducive learning environments and improve infrastructure across our public schools. Our children deserve schools they can be proud to learn in, and that is the standard we are working to achieve across Kiambaa,” the lawmaker said.
Similarly, MrNjuguna commissioned a newly constructed block of five classrooms at Kawaida Secondary School.
During the handover ceremony, the lawmaker lauded the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) for spearheading and completing construction along the agreed timelines.
“For years, children from Kawaida had to walk long distances to access secondary education. That is why we started Kawaida Secondary School from the ground up to bring education closer to our children. “Today, we have handed over five additional classrooms, fitted with tiles, whiteboards, ramps and a staircase, with the entire storey repainted,” Njuguna said.
The new classroom block also includes ramps to improve accessibility for students and staff with diverse needs.
