Baringo residents inhabiting low lying areas asked to be alert

Baringo residents residing in flood prone plains especially along riverine and locations adjacent to the lake, have been advised to remain alert as flooding is expected to occur due to the ongoing heavy rains.

County Director of Meteorological Services, Samuel Mutai, in his weekly brief reiterated that the rainfall is anticipated to persist with increased spread and intensity throughout the county.

In the weekly rainfall forecast for the period between October 28 and November 3, this year, Mr Mutai said that flooding is also likely to be experienced in low lying areas.

He also stated that landslides and mudslides or rock falls are likely to occur in the highland areas.

The director in the weather forecast report indicated that in the evenings, light to moderate rains will be received throughout the county.
