The Chief Executive Officer of ZOE Empowerment, Rigan Kaberia, has urged graduands to use the skills they have gained to shine in their communities and become agents of positive change.
Speaking on Friday at Maua Stadium during the graduation ceremony of ZOE beneficiaries, Kaberia emphasized that the organisation is committed to reaching out to vulnerable groups and equipping them with practical skills to start their own businesses.
“Our goal is to ensure that no one is left behind. We target vulnerable groups including orphans, single parents, and the neediest individuals, equipping them with skills to start sustainable businesses and transform their lives,” the CEO said.
Kaberia challenged the graduands to make good use of the skills and support they have received, noting that success will come through hard work, discipline, and wise use of resources.
“You have been empowered today. Go out and shine in your communities. Use the skills you have gained to improve your lives and uplift those around you,” he added.
The CEO also cautioned the graduands not to misuse the opportunities offered through ZOE Empowerment, stressing that the programme was designed to change lives and secure their future.
“Do not waste this opportunity. It is a rare chance to transform your life. Use it wisely and remain focused on your goals,” he said.
He further encouraged the graduands to empower others, highlighting that sharing knowledge and skills creates stronger and more self-reliant communities.
“Do not keep this opportunity to yourselves. Share your knowledge, mentor others, and empower more people as you have been empowered,” Kaberia urged.
More than 600 graduands from Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties were awarded certificates during the ceremony after completing three years of monitoring following their skills training and the establishment of their own businesses through the ZOE Empowerment programme.
Kaberia explained that the monitoring period is designed to ensure beneficiaries remain on track, apply their skills, and build viable businesses.
The beneficiaries praised ZOE Empowerment for transforming their lives through skills development and entrepreneurship support.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity given by ZOE. I was trained as a tailor, and within three years I have stabilised my business and even bought two motorbikes,” said Susan Nkirote, a ZOE Empowerment beneficiary.
