Uasin Gishu Modern Library project gains momentum

Construction of the Uasin Gishu Modern Library, Youth, and Innovation Centre in Eldoret City is gaining momentum, with county officials expressing confidence that the project will be completed within the agreed timelines.

The assurance followed a site inspection on Thursday by Director of Administration Samwel Kiptoo, Assistant Directors Simon Kogo and Irene Saina, project architect Nicholas Tirop, representatives from SHIV Construction, and the Quantity Surveyor’s team.

The officials lauded the pace of construction and urged the contractor and technical teams to sustain the momentum to ensure the project is delivered on schedule.

Mr. Kiptoo assured the contractor and technical teams of the county government’s continued support as construction enters its next phase.

“We are impressed by the progress so far. Let us continue with this pace and count on our support moving forward. We need to move with speed and work towards the agreed timelines,” Kiptoo urged the contractor.

The officials also emphasised the importance of adhering strictly to safety standards and maintaining effective coordination at the construction site.

They urged workers to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents that could disrupt the project.

“Safety must remain a priority. We cannot afford any incidents that could derail this important project,” the team noted.

Once completed, the Modern Library, Youth, and Innovation Centre is expected to provide a modern facility for learning, innovation, and youth development while improving residents’ access to information and knowledge resources.

The center is also expected to provide young people with opportunities to develop skills, explore innovation, and access facilities that support learning and creativity.

The county government reiterated its commitment to working closely with the contractor and technical teams to ensure the project is completed smoothly, safely, and within the stipulated timelines.
