Nyakach Member of Parliament Aduma Owuor has procured six new school buses through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) in a move aimed at improving transport for learners across the constituency.
The buses are scheduled to be officially distributed to schools before the end of the current financial year 2026/2027, marking one of the constituency’s latest investments in the education sector.
Among the schools set to receive new school bus is the AIC Naki Secondary School to restore the institution’s transport capacity and support students in both academic and co-curricular activities.
This is after the former school bus was involved in a tragic road accident in 2025 that resulted in the loss of more than 20 people.
Other schools set to benefit from the initiative include Ragen A.I.C Secondary, Pawtenge Secondary, Olembo Boys High School, Rakwaro Mixed Secondary and St. Georges Special School.
This brings the total number of school and institutional buses procured by Nyakach NG-CDF by the end of this financial year to 22.
Nyakach Girls High School will also receive a brand new bus courtesy of President William Samoei Ruto.
Aduma emphasized that the initiative reflects his commitment to improving learning conditions and ensuring schools have the infrastructure necessary to support quality education.
“School infrastructure is a key base for effective teaching and learning in schools and are the enablers of academic progress,” the MP said.
School buses have increasingly become a priority for many institutions as they enhance learners’ movements, improve punctuality and support participation in educational and extracurricular programs.
