Bibirioni Level Four Hospital in Bibirioni Ward, Limuru Sub-County, is set to begin operations following the completion of all construction works at the facility.
A final inspection of the health facility has confirmed that key works, including interior finishing, construction of the perimeter wall, cabro paving, and landscaping, have been completed, paving the way for the installation and operationalization of medical services.
The Kiambu County Government has procured medical equipment for the facility, with the equipment already delivered and awaiting installation before the hospital becomes fully operational.
The modern facility is expected to strengthen access to healthcare services for residents of Bibirioni Ward and neighboring areas by providing a range of general medical services closer to the community.
Speaking during the final inspection, Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi said the completion of the hospital was a major milestone in the county government’s efforts to expand and improve access to quality healthcare.
Governor Wamatangi said the county was committed to ensuring that the facility is equipped and operationalised to enable residents to access essential health services without travelling long distances.
“The completion of Bibirioni Level Four Hospital marks an important step in strengthening healthcare services in Limuru. We are now focused on installing the equipment and operationalizing the facility so that residents can begin benefiting from these services,” said Governor Wamatangi.
A major component of the facility will be a cancer center, which is expected to enhance access to cancer-related services within the sub-county and reduce the need for patients to travel to distant facilities for specialized care.
The inclusion of the cancer center is expected to complement the general medical services offered at the hospital and contribute to the county’s efforts to decentralize specialized healthcare services.
The completed perimeter wall, cabro works, and landscaping have also improved the facility’s external environment, while the completed interior works provide the necessary setting for installation of medical equipment and commencement of clinical services.
Once operational, the hospital is expected to serve Bibirioni and surrounding communities, improving access to healthcare while supporting the county’s broader agenda of expanding modern and specialized medical services across its sub-counties.
