A section of Narok clergy has urged residents to shun politicians who thrive on tribal incitement and division as we approach the 2027 general elections.
The clergy, led by the Narok County African Independence Pentecost Church of Africa (AIPCA) Bishop, Dickson Nkoitiko, said that such rogue politicians are out to create animosity amongst the locals and thus they ought not to fall prey of this but instead remain vigilant and freely give information to the police when need be.
He continued to say that all leaders and aspirants must take the lead in preaching peaceful co-existence noting that the political class rarely maintain permanent enmity and so Kenyans should likewise stop personalizing politics.
The bishop particularly cautioned the youths against being manipulated by politicians to insult or assault on various platforms opponents on social media saying the platform should not be misused.
He also called on religious faithful to pray for the nation during this political season so that all voters make a sober decision and maintain peace during and after the election period.
Echoing similar sentiments was the Chairman of AIPCA Men’s Association, Simon Mong’atuo who urged the locals to uphold their peace and resist any attempts to have them divided along church or tribal lines as the election period is a temporal season.
The chairman of AIPCA Narok Diocese, Simon Muigai on his part said the Church should preserve its integrity, emphasizing that unity remains central to God’s will and called upon everyone to remain as one during and after the 2027 general election.
