Gov’t on course to digitize services, Owalo

The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Mr. Eliud Owalo has said that the government is working towards transferring all its services to the digital platform.

In this regard, Owalo has encouraged Kenyans to embrace the use of and have access to the internet to benefit from the services, while speaking at Ahero market in Nyando, Kisumu County, during the launch of a Public WI FI.

The CS said the government had earmarked priority areas for digitalization which include business registration, trade access, among others.

He expressed that today’s launch was the fourth and a plan to roll out 25, 000 public hotspots across the country. Some of the counties that have benefitted from the programme include Nyeri, Bondo and Siaya.

He told the residents to utilize the services to access markets and other socio-economic activities.
