Ikuu Boys High School has once again cemented its reputation as a national school and a center of academic excellence by achieving excellent results in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
The school attained a mean score of 8.594, a testimony to the dedication and hard work by the students, teachers, and the community.
Out of the 246 candidates, 233 students qualified for university admission, a transition rate that was a clear indicator of the high academic standards maintained by the institution.
The School Principal Morris Thigaa attributed this extraordinary success to the strong relationship between teachers, students, and parents.
“Our achievement is a result of the collective effort and commitment of everyone involved. The synergy between our dedicated teachers, disciplined students, and supportive parents has been the backbone of our success,” he said.
The principal also highlighted the disciplined of the students as a contributing factor in their success.
“Our students are not only academically inclined but also disciplined. They understand the importance of hard work, focus, and perseverance. This has been instrumental in achieving such remarkable results,” Thigaa added
He said teachers have played a pivotal role in the success story saying their unwavering commitment to students’ academic and personal development has been evident in their teaching methods, mentorship, and dedication to extra-curricular activities.
“Our teachers are not just educators but are mentors who guide and inspire our students to reach their full potential. Their hard work and dedication have been critical in helping our students achieve their academic goals,” noted the principal.
The principal emphasised that the school’s success is not only reflected in its academic performance but also in the holistic development of students.
“The school has consistently emphasized the importance of a well-rounded education. We encourage our students to participate in various co-curricular activities. This approach has helped in nurturing well-balanced individuals who are ready to take on the challenges of higher education and beyond,” said Thigaa
Going forward, Thigaa expressed optimism about the future and has set high expectations in 2025 national exams.
“We are proud of our achievements this year, but we are not resting on our successes. Our goal is to continue this upward trajectory and aim for even higher success in the 2025 KCSE exams.
We are committed to maintaining the high standards we have set and will keep working hard to achieve our vision of excellence,” he said.
