Kabati Youth FC welcomes new talent ahead of the season

New faces are expected at Kabati Youth FC after conducting trials to recruit new players to the team ahead of the new season 2026/2027.

The three-day event took place at Kimorori grounds, Murang’a South Sub County, where scores of aspiring players from the region and beyond turned out to showcase their talent so as to secure a spot in the national super league club.

At the same time, Kabati FC’s trialists lost their friendly match 4-2 to NAS Servair at Kimorori Grounds.

NAS took the lead in the first minutes of the half from the spot before Kabati equalized in later minutes. Minutes to the halftime, Kabati scored the second goal to steal the lead from the away team. In the second half of the match, the home team conceded two goals, hence losing to NAS.

The selected trialists are expected to join the Kabati Youth players for the preseason training from 20th July. Trialists have high expectations with the club and are ready to give their best if selected to play for the team.

One of the trialists Edwin Mwangi said “Kabati Youth is one of the best teams in the region and being a home team it will be a privilege to represent them.” He also added, “The challenge we have faced during the match is that we had only trained for a few sessions before the match, so we had not familiarized ourselves with each other; despite that, we managed to score the two goals.”

Coach Owen Makhoha said that he has a lot of expectations from the team for next season, with his aim being lifting the NSL trophy.

He added that “We will continue to strengthen the team before the end of the transfer window for next season; our main aim this season is to win the National Super League so we are promoted to the FKF Sportpesa League.”

Their fans were happy to see their team play again after some weeks, despite being disappointed by the results.

They also praised the trialists for their commitment and willingness to play to secure spots in the team. They promised support to the team ahead of the new season, which is expected to kick off in August
