Political and religious leaders from Homa Bay County have finalised plans for President William Ruto’s visit this Sunday.
President Ruto is expected to start the tour with a prayer service at Agoro Sare High School in Oyugis Town, Kasipul Constituency.
After the prayer, Ruto will inspect the tarmacking of Adiedo Karabok Road that connects Kasipul and Karachuonyo constituencies.
The President will then officially open the newly constructed Rusinga Ring Road in Rusinga Island, Suba North Constituency.
In a joint press briefing today, Homa bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Chairman of the Interfaith Council in Nyanza region Bishop Abrahams Odongo said the preparations for the visit were complete.
On Monday, the President is expected to visit Ongeng’ sub power station in Ndhiwa Sub-county.
Wanga told residents to come out in large numbers to welcome Ruto. “This is going to be President Ruto’s fifteenth visit to our county. I want the people of Homa Bay to come out in large numbers to welcome him,” Wanga said.
“A guest usually comes with blessings. We have high hope that the President will not leave us without any goodies,” Wanga said.
Kasipul legislator Boyd Were said the visit is significant to the people of Kasipul.
“Let the people of Kasipul know that the President’s visit will benefit them,” Were said.
Bishop Odongo said the frequent visits signifies President Ruto’s love for the people of Homa Bay.
“This is show of love the President has for the people of Homa Bay. As clergymen in this county, we highly welcome him,” Bishop Odongo said.
Father Romanus Ageng’a of Homa Bay Catholic Parish called for harmonious working relations amongst political leaders.
“It is important for leaders to work together for the benefit of the people,” Rev Ageng’a said.
He noted that Ruto’s administration was undertaking mega development projects worth billions of shillings in Home Bay County.
