Nyamira Officer Shoots Bosses Dead Over Deployment

A police officer in Nyamira went berserk last Tuesday and shot two of his seniors before turning the gun on self.

preliminary investigations into the incident indicated that the officer was infuriated with the changes in the deployment before engaging his seniors in a bitter argument over his new posting.

Too explained that Nyamira Sub County CIPU Commander Nicanor Odhiambo was in the company of Seargent Amani Ali talking to their junior colleague Julius Mudachi about earlier unsettled differences on deployment of officers guarding the Governor’s residence as Mudachi was disgruntled on how his seniors  did the redeployment.

“While a heated argument on the matter ensued amongst the three officers, Mudachi who was armed with a loaded K47 rifle suddenly cocked it and started shooting at his seniors where Nicanor Odhiambo, 55 and Amani Ali, 49 were both shot on the thighs of their right legs and the perpetrator, Mudachi directed the gun to his chin and shot himself down,” The deputy CIPU commander confirmed.

“The three were rushed to Nyamira Referral Hospital 300m from the incident’s scene and Seargent Amani Ali and Julius Mudachi were pronounced dead on arrival for they succumbed to severe bullet injuries and their remains preserved at the hospital’s mortuary while Nicanor Odhiambo was attended to and referred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) for advanced and specialised treatment,” said  Too.

Too said they recovered 4 used cartridges and an AK47 rifle from the crime scene which will be used as an exhibit when investigations surrounding the shooting incident will be launched.
