Parents with children living with disabilities in Suba North Sub County have been advised to expose them to charitable organizations instead of hiding them at home.
Speaking to KNA at Mbita town during the mass registration of Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), the NG-CDF Fund Manager, Samuel Walwanda said that there are some parents who are still viewing children born with disabilities as a curse to the family and thus hiding them in their houses.
Walwanda argued that such retrogressive cultural believes are outdated and should be discarded, saying there are many organizations among them Sight savers which supportssuch children.
The Fund Manager assured persons living with disabilities that they could also access bursaries from the NG-CDF office so long as they apply for the same.
He appealed to officials carrying out mass registration of PLWDs to extend the registration exercise so as to capture a bigger number in the constituency.
