Administrator wants parents to monitor their children

Tana River County Commissioner Mr.Thomas Sankie has called on parents to guide their school children during long-holiday to avoid cases of early marriages and pregnancy.

The County Commissioner said the children who will be on two months holiday could engage in unbecoming behaviour due to idleness and added that lack of proper guidance could contribute to cases of early marriage and pregnancy.

Speaking at Hola Stadium today during the 59th Jamhuri day Celebrations Mr.Sankei thanked the area residents for maintaining peace among the farming Community and livestock keepers during the drought that adversely affected the area.

Addressing the same gathering, Governor Tana River County Major (RTD) Dhado Godhana asked the national government to partner with the county government to initiate projects that have economic benefit to the residents and alleviate poverty.

He also said, the Hola GK Prison located at Hola Town will be relocated to another site to pave way for the buildings of a National Museum.
