Makueni MP Susan Kiamba has handed over a new Sh4 million County Police Commander’s Office, constructed through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Kiamba handed over the office to the County Police Commander, Alice Kimeli in Wote town, during the official commissioning of the facility, upon completion of the construction works.
The MP expressed her satisfaction that local police officers would now work in a conducive environment to enable them serve the people efficiently.
During the event, Kiamba urged the security personnel to work closely with her office, with a view to exploring ways of assisting each other to ensure officers in the constituency, work from a habitable environment.
“In the past, we have helped chiefs and their assistants, who were working from rental offices to have their own workplaces. Going forward, we shall rehabilitate offices that are in bad shape,” said Kiamba, while addressing the police and members of the public during the function.
At the same time, the MP promised that the NG-CDF will also fence the new office, do a 3-door toilet for members of the public, construct a septic tank, besides planting trees in the compound.
On his part, the County Deputy Police Commander, Isaac Kombo, said the newly constructed office will decongest the Sub County Commander’s office, where they have been working from.
Kombo further thanked the MP for the initiative saying it had made the beneficiary police officers deliver better services to members of the public.
The function was also attended by the Makueni Sub County Deputy County Commissioner Paul Langat, Sub county Police Commander Winnie Siele and the area NG-CDF chairperson Daniel Kavoi, among other officials.
