Tarmacking works on the 5-kilometre Mitiini–Kwa Njenga–Dada’s–PCEA Baraka–Baraka Court–Affordable Housing road stretch in Karanjee, Limuru Constituency, has commenced following a launch by area MP Kiragu Chege.
The launch, held outside PCEA Karanjee Church, marked the beginning of construction works aimed at improving road connectivity and easing movement for residents and motorists in the area.
The contractor has already moved to the site, signaling the start of the long-awaited transformation of the road corridor, which links several residential and community centres in Karanjee.
Chege said the project would improve accessibility, support local economic activities, and enhance the general living environment for residents once completed.
He thanked Karanjee residents for their patience and urged them to cooperate with the contractor throughout the construction period.
“We have officially begun this important project, and I thank the people of Karanjee for their patience. I urge residents to work closely with the contractor and bear with any temporary inconveniences as we deliver this long-awaited road stretch,” said Chege.
The MP said the improved road would provide a more reliable transport link while supporting businesses and improving access to essential services within the area.
Residents are expected to experience temporary disruptions during construction, including changes in traffic flow and access along sections of the road.
The commencement of the tarmacking works is part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure in Limuru constituency, with the upgraded corridor expected to contribute to better road connectivity and stimulate development in Karanjee.
The project is also expected to enhance access to the affordable housing development and other residential areas served by the road once the works are completed.
