Limuru MP Eng. John Kiragu Chege on Thursday, presided over the issuance of NG-CDF bursaries totalling Sh18,141,000 to 2,847 Grade 10 students to enable them to continue with their education uninterrupted by fees challenges.
The MP, who is aligned to the government, linked the bursary and ongoing development projects to his support for national initiatives. “I am aligned to the government and that’s why we are enjoying development projects, including the almost complete affordable housing project in the area,” said Eng. Kiragu.
The MP urged parents to prioritize their children’s education in order to better their future. He stressed that education was the strongest tool for transformation and pledged to support education programs in the entire constituency.
Assistant County Commissioner for Limuru Division, Ms. Ruth Obuya also encouraged parents to motivate their children to study hard to perform well in academics.
“Parents encourage your children to take advantage of these opportunities to succeed in school so that the future of Limuru can be secure and bright,” said ACC Obuya who also called on residents to maintain peace and focus on development.
