Leaders call for peaceful coexistence

Leaders in Rachuonyo Sub County have called for peaceful coexistence with one another during 63rd madaraka day celebration held at Rachuonyo Vocational and Technical College

MP for Kasipul constituency Boyd Were said he has done his best to ensure the constituency is united and peaceful

“As an MP of this area, my top agenda is education and security. In security I have done my best, and the constituency is now more united and peaceful. We are very peaceful,” he said

The MP said he has done his best to unite the people since he came into office and urged the residents to remain peaceful to create an environment conducive for development.

Silvester Mwangulu, Rachuonyo Sub County Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), also stressed the need for peace in the Sub-county at all times regardless of their political affiliations

He said the government will not at any time tolerate goons that infiltrate political gatherings to cause disharmony

The DCC called for support for the local administration to ensure all residents and their properties are protected.

He said the government has created almost nine new administrations units in the subcounty, which he said have already been made operational and asked local leadership especially the MCAs and the area MP, to provide land for the establishment of police post to bring security close to the people

Were, echoing this year’s Madaraka Day theme: education, skills, and the future, said he has allocated Sh9 million to Rachuonyo TVC to buy a school bus to help in students’ movement.

“I have also allocated Sh1.2 million from the CDF-NG to install a digital network to help the students’ online studies and better their skills,” he said.

During the Madaraka fete, Rachuonyo TVC students were able to showcase in the various desks set out the skills they are training on in the college, which the MP said are important in transforming their livelihoods and the future progress of our nation.
