Kamirithu school receives new lockers and chairs

Students at Kamirithu School in Limuru Constituency are set to enjoy a better learning environment following the delivery of new lockers and chairs funded under the Limuru National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).

The new furniture has been supplied as part of ongoing efforts to improve education infrastructure in public schools within the constituency and come alongside classroom renovation works aimed at creating a more comfortable and conducive environment for learners.

Several classrooms at the school have already undergone refurbishment, while more renovation work is scheduled to take place during the upcoming school holidays.

Speaking on the project, Limuru Member of Parliament John Kiragu said the initiative is part of his commitment to improving education facilities across the constituency.

“We are committed to delivering on the promises made to the people of Limuru and ensuring our children learn in a better environment,” said Kiragu.

The MP noted that investing in schools remains a key priority, especially as institutions continue to adapt to the needs of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), which requires adequate learning spaces and facilities.

Teachers and parents have welcomed the improvements, saying better classrooms and learning equipment will help create a more organized and comfortable environment for students. The new lockers are expected to provide learners with secure storage space, while the chairs will improve comfort during lessons.

Education stakeholders have also praised the continued support for public schools, noting that improved infrastructure plays an important role in enhancing learning outcomes.

The Kamirithu School project is among several education initiatives being implemented through the Limuru NG-CDF. Local leaders say the ongoing upgrades demonstrate efforts to strengthen education standards and provide learners with facilities that support effective teaching and learning.
