The Kakamega County Affordable Housing Project (AHP) is 97% complete.
Launched in September 2023 at Milimani estate in Lurambi constituency, the project, whose estimated cost is Sh 472 comprises 220 residential units.
It consists of 60 studio units, 20 one-bedroom units, 100 and 40 two- and three-bedroom units respectively.
It involves construction of 220 housing units, consisting of 60 studio units, 20 one-bedroom units, 100 two-bedroom units, and 40 three-bedroom units respectively.
Remaining works currently being undertaken include completion of landscaping, paved walkways, vehicle access and parking lot.
The project is key in not only addressing Kenya’s housing challenge but also stimulating local economies through job creation.
The Head of State is expected to officially open the housing units soon.
