Onewaywise Health Services Limited in partnership with Social Health Authority (SHA), African Air Rescue (AAR) and First Assurance, have organized a free medical camp at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)- Wote Campus, aimed at benefiting students and the community.
The camp that is running from 7th to 9th October, 2025 will provide medical services that include; blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, HIV testing, family planning, counselling, nutrition, eye and dental services, as well as general consultation.
Speaking at the start of the event, yesterday, the Director Onewaywise Health Services Francis Muema, said the group intended to reach out to especially students who avoid going for medical checkups, due to either fear or lack of awareness.
While appealing to residents to attend in large numbers, to make the exercise a success, Muema said that the camp aims to bring health services to wananchi, who would not access the same, due to lack of finances. The camp is done between 9am and 5pm from yesterday through to Thursday this week.
“This initiative is one way of encouraging students and the community to prioritize their health, so as to identify any illness before it spreads further complicating treatment,” said Muema while speaking to Kenya News Agency at the KMTC, in Wote Town.
Dr. Michael Mutie, one of the organizers and a Doctor at Onewaywise Services Limited, explained that the programme is not only beneficial to the community, but also gives an opportunity to students to gain field experience.
“The goal is not only to offer services, but also to expose students to real fieldwork and allow them to learn through interaction with professionals,” said Dr. Mutie.
This initiative was started back in 2020 during Covid-19 crisis, when the Hospital extended its free services of consultation in churches, schools and banks. The Director disclosed that the Institution will take their services to Makueni Law Court next week.
