Projects funded through the NGCDF kitty at Sh29 million commissioned in Rarieda

Rarieda Member of Parliament Dr. Otiende Amolo has launched development projects in the constituency funded to the tune of Sh29 million from the NGCDF kitty.

Speaking at Raliew Secondary School when he commissioned a Sh 1.8 million classroom, Otiende disclosed that besides school projects that have been funded to the tune of Sh 15 million, two high mast lights have been launched at Owimbi Center and Asembo Bay Beach at a cost of Sh 7 million each.

Otiende disclosed that the area NGCDF team has visited Ramba, Ndigwa, and Nyabera High School and a number of primary schools during the three-day tour of the projects in the region to commission development projects.

The legislator further disclosed that all primary schools in the area have also benefited from fencing and gating projects through the NGCDF kitty to enhance security, safety, and order at the institutions.

He observed that there is a significant improvement in academic performance as a result of NGCDF support, with schools in the region registering sterling performance in the recently released national examination results.

“Ndigwa Secondary School, which has received the highest support of NGCDF in the constituency over the last four years, registered a mean score of 8.7, emerging third best in Siaya County after Maranda and Rangala high schools,” said Otiende.

Otiende disclosed that the two high mast lights at Owimbi and Asembo Bay have not only enhanced security in the region but also boosted trade, as traders along the beaches can work for longer hours without worrying about their safety.

“We installed the high mast lights to enhance security and trade, but we have also realized that the lights have attracted a lot of fish at the beach where we have a mast. “This has greatly improved fish production in the region, enhancing economic empowerment for the locals” said Otiende.
