By S, KNA

A 40-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after allegedly attacking another man with cabro blocks in Kenol, Murang’a County.

Francis Njogu Mwangi appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate, Sheila Nyaga, at the Kenol Law Courts, where he denied the charges.

The court heard that the complainant, James Karanja, was walking home at around 9:30 p.m. on September 30, 2025, when the incident occurred.

According to the prosecution, as Karanja approached the area near Travelers Bar, the accused allegedly emerged from a nearby farm and struck him using cabro blocks.

The blow reportedly broke one tooth and damaged six others, causing Mr. Karanja to bleed heavily.

The court heard that the victim briefly lost consciousness and collapsed. When he regained consciousness approximately three minutes later, he ran to Travelers Club seeking help.

Members of the public administered first aid and advised him to file a police report.

Mr. Karanja later reported the matter at Kenol Police Station, leading to the arrest and arraignment of the accused.

The accused was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 or an alternative bond of Sh100,000 and will remain in custody until he meets the bail or bond terms.

Magistrate Nyaga set the matter for mention on January 21, 2026, for pre-trial proceedings.
