United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party-affiliated leaders in Makueni County have supported President Ruto’s reelection in next year’s General Election because of his development track record across the country.
Led by Kibwezi West Member of Parliament, Mwengi Mutuse, they said President Ruto has initiated development projects in Makueni and the country at large without any discrimination.
The leaders especially enumerated the various projects being constructed in Makueni, including affordable housing, markets, roads, and dams, saying they have transformed people’s lives for the better.
“Wananchi want leaders who are doing development. That is why we are supporting President Ruto. For the first time in Makueni County we have witnessed projects being done by this government. We have had governments, but they have not done anything in the Ukambani region,” said Mutuse while addressing wananchi during a Women Empowerment Forum at Kaumoni Primary School in Makueni Sub-county on Sunday.
“We have seen the tarmacking of the Itangini-Tawa, Kyambeke-Kikoko, and Emali-Ukia roads and the construction of affordable housing in various towns, including Wote, Makindu, and Kikima,” he added.
The MP reminded the leaders who opposed the government to know that wananchi cannot eat the words they spread on campaign platforms, as they have become wiser and know those who meet their expectations.
“I want to ask the leaders spreading divisive politics and tribal politics that wananchi are well informed and will elect those development-conscious,” posed the MP.
The Principal Secretary (PS) of the State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Teresia Mbaika, on her part said, “President Ruto will be re-elected and lead this country up to 2032. We have development here in Makueni County, like the construction of markets at Kilala, Wote, and Matulani; tarmacking of the Kyambeke-Ukia road; and dams at Kaumoni and Kyetuli.”
“We will persist with doing development by ensuring villages are connected to electricity,” she added.
Other UDA leaders present and addressing the forum included the Managing Director Kenya Railways, Philip Mainga, Prof. Philip Kaloki (aspiring governor); Fred Muteti (aspiring MP); and Kisoi Munyao (aspiring MP), among others.
