Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa insists that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will form a coalition to win the 2027 election.
Speaking in Butere Sub County Sunday, Governor Barasa urged residents of Kakamega County to remain united and rally behind the coalition.
He said the political alignment is anchored on delivering tangible development and improving the livelihoods of wananchi.
“The focus of this coalition is not politics for its own sake, but development that touches the lives of our people,” said Barasa, adding that unity among leaders and citizens was critical to sustaining progress in the county and beyond.
Butere Member of Parliament Tindi Mwale who was also present also drummed up support for the coalition, affirming his full backing of Governor Barasa’s leadership and the county’s development agenda.
He urged residents to look beyond political differences and support leaders who are committed to development, peace and unity.
Other leaders present echoed similar sentiments, noting that collaboration between national and county leadership under the coalition would unlock more opportunities and social services.
The leaders called on residents to remain steadfast and support the coalition’s vision.
They said it offers a clear roadmap for sustainable development and economic empowerment across Kakamega County and the wider Western Kenya region.
