Kakamega County Government is preparing for this year’s edition of the Governor’s cup, which will feature 960 teams.
The Chief Officer for Sports, Youth and Library Services, Lawrence Mukoyani, said the tournament will kick off at the ward level with 16 teams competing in each ward.
He said the awarding of winners will begin at the sub-county level and culminate with the overall winner at the county level.
“All winners from the 12 sub-counties will be awarded during the tournament,” the County chief officer added.
Mukoyani was speaking in Navakholo during an Agricultural Field Day on Thursday, where he assured the youth that the dates for commencement of the tournament will be announced.
