More than 300 elderly people and persons living with severe disabilities in Rangwe and Suba South Constituencies received relief food and non-food stuff from the Jared Otieno Kiasa Foundation to support them during the current hard economic times caused by COVID 19 pandemic.
The organisation distributed food and non-food items in Kagan, Gem West and East and Kochia wards of Rangwe constituency where 170 vulnerable families benefited while another 200 persons from Nyatoto and Kigoto villages in Ruma/Kaksingri ward of Suba South constituency received the same items.
The Foundation’s County coordinator Hezron Orata supervised the distribution of flour, bars of soap, sugar and cooking oil to support the elderly and persons living with severe disabilities and who are not able to provide daily meals to their families during this pandemic period.
Orata said that the NGO had used the chiefs and their assistants to identify such beneficiaries from the villages.
