JSC recommends appointment of 20 new high court Judges

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has submitted a list of 20 candidates to President William Ruto for appointment as Judges of the high court.

JSC in a statement said that on March 14, 2022 the Commission advertised for vacant positions of Judges of the High Court and the list of candidates was arrived at after the conclusion of interviews.

The statement signed by Chief Justice (CJ) Martha Koome who is also the chairperson Judicial Service Commission indicates that after lengthy deliberations and careful consideration of the performance of the various candidates and based on the constitutional imperative of merit, gender, regional balance and affirmative action, the JSC has recommended the appointment of the candidates to the office of Judge of the High Court.

The nominated candidates are   Gichohi Patricia Njeri, Ms. Mongare Josephine Wayua Wambua, Ms. Nyaundi Patricia Mande-SC,  Kavedza Diana Rachel, Ms. Chirchir Sophie Chebet, Prof (Dr) Sifuna Nixon Wanyama, Ms. Shariff Mwanaisha Saida,  Nyaga Heston Mbogo, Mr. Chigiti John Mugwimi,  Mulwa Peter Mutua,  Nthiga Lawrence Mugambi, Mr. Mutai Gregory, Mr. Wananda John Robert Anuro, Mr. Mohochi Samwel Mukira, Mr Olel Francis Rayola Ochieng Odhiambo, Dr Githiru Freda Mugambi, Mr. Magare Dennis Kizito Ng’wono,  Macharia Florence Wangari,  Odera Teresa Achieng and Mr. Visram Aleem Alnashir.

“The Commission wishes to thank all the candidates, Kenyans and all stakeholders for their participation in the recruitment and selection process,” said Koome.
