Leaders from Ukambani have continued to condole with the family of Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene Kasimbi following the death of her father on Tuesday evening.
Political leaders took to social media platforms to deliver their condolence messages to the family of the late David Mutisya Makumbi who passed on at the Karen hospital in Nairobi.
The leaders described 83-year- old Makumbi as a staunch educationist and an advocate for excellent leadership having greatly influenced local politics in the region.
“My condolences to Hon. Joyce Kamene- Machakos Woman Rep and her family for the loss of her father Mzee David Mutisya Makumbi who has gone to be with the Lord,” posted Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu on her twitter account.
“May God grant you favor strength and fortitude to bear this unfortunate loss. May his soul rest in Eternal Peace,” added Ngilu.
Machakos Deputy Governor Engineer Francis Maliti eulogized Mzee Makumbi as his great friend who played a crucial role in his formative years.
“He greatly encouraged me to relentlessly pursue education as it was the key to success,” posted Maliti on his Facebook account.
“May the almighty God give you comfort, strength and fortitude during this difficult time. Mzee Makumbi is like a grand dad to me, so granny rest in peace,” posted Muthetheni Ward Member of County Assembly Jeremiah M. Munguti.
Others who condoled with the family comprise the media fraternity, business people and other government administrators.
Mzee Makumbi was a renowned business man in Yatta Sub County of Machakos and is survived by 11 children.
