Campaigns for Mumbuni North ward have gained momentum after Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) endorsed Harrison Wambua as its candidate for the upcoming by-election scheduled for November 2025.
The endorsement event, held at Kisooni grounds in Mumbuni North, was hosted by Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection and MCC party leader Alfred Mutua. During the event, the party declared its confidence and support in Wambua’s ability to deliver development.
Mutua said the party selected Wambua due to his potential to drive progress in the ward, which has lacked a representative for the past three years. “We believe he has the capacity to transform Mumbuni North through better leadership,” Mutua noted.
In his acceptance speech, Wambua thanked the party for trusting him and pledged to prioritize infrastructure, roads, water supply, and education once elected. He appealed to voters for support, assuring them that his vision extended beyond the ballot to the Machakos County Assembly, where he promised to represent residents effectively.
Machakos MP Caleb Mule, who attended the event, urged leaders and residents to work together to ensure unity and development across the county.
As the by-election approaches, six aspirants are in the race. United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has fronted Misi Mutua, while Wiper has presented Anthony Kisoi. Other candidates include Richard Nzioki of CCU, Naomi Nzioki (Independent), and Nzomo Muli representing GDDP.
