Ntulele group ranch members in Narok East sub county have warned members of the public against purchasing land at their Ildamat property saying that fraudsters are offering land at low prices.
Speaking during a media briefing, the group spokesman, Sammy Karei, said that the imposters have continued to illegally sell the parcels of land, even after the officials took several measures to stop the scam.
“We have advertised in local dailies, informed the locals, reported to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), but these conmen are still defrauding the members of the public,” said Karei.
The group ranch that owns approximately 56,000 acres of land was previously involved a court case concerning the same that was heard and determined in May, 2024 directing that there should be no further demarcation of the land pending resolution of the dispute.
However, the decision was challenged and the matter is currently under appeal at the Nakuru Law Courts.
Until then, the spokesman insisted that there was need for the group to remains committed to abiding by the court directives until the appeal is determined.
“We are law abiding citizens and we will not allow anyone to go against the directive of the court,” noted Karei.
Mike Tanyasis who is also a member of the group revealed that the imposters have gone to the extent of producing fake titles purporting to have originated from the group.
Following this, officials have formed a committee to look into this matter, while urging the security agencies to take action against those conning locals into obtaining parcels of land within this area.
The officials have convened a meeting with their members expected to take place tomorrow, so that they can get the way forward and safeguard their land from illegal dealings.
