A Turkish philanthropist will partner with the County government of Siaya to upgrade medical facilities in the area, Governor James Orengo has said.
Orengo, who took the philanthropist, Abdulhamid Yildirim on a tour of Siaya County Referral Hospital said that through the partnership, Yildirim has accepted to rehabilitate and equip three health centres in Bondo, Gem and Ugenya constituencies.
The governor said that the philanthropist, who was behind a recent tour to Turkiye by top County government officials, will also fund the modernization of the County Referral Hospital’s laboratory.
“His aim and objective is to have all the tests done and concluded here in Siaya,” said the Governor who was flanked by his Deputy, William Oduol and other senior County government officials.
Orengo said that his government has set aside sh50 million to equip the County Referral Hospital mortuary.
Earlier before touring the County Referral Hospital, Orengo launched one of the three modern ambulances that the County is set to acquire in the next two weeks.
Addressing the media, Abdulhamid Yildirim who heads 3T group in Turkiye said Siaya people deserved better health care adding that he will strive to make the County medical facilities a model for the region.
