Residents of Kokwanyo Kakello ward have lauded philanthropic businessman Julius Oswago for his initiative to build bridges across various rivers to enables children access schools with ease
The residents led by Charles Otieno and Carolyne Anyango heaped praise on Oswago’s efforts in constructing wooden bridges across the streams and rivers saying the initiative would also enable women access markets for farm produce with ease
They thanked Mr. Oswago who is also the proprietor of Satisfied Academy in Omiro Basa south location for identifying the bridges as a need for the community and funding their construction
“For so long we have suffered, especially during rainy seasons with our children using long routes to reach schools. Sometimes, they arrive school late,” Anyango said.
She said the distance to Riat market has now shortened since even Boda boda riders can pass across the bridges moving people and goods
The residents registered their appreciation during the commissioning of Achak Bridge that opened access for Kobuola and Kanyango villages.
