Residents protest over poor road network

Residents from Kamailel village in Mochongoi Ward of Baringo South Constituency in Baringo County have protested over the poor road network in the area, which they described as deplorable, making access to crucial services difficult.

The residents lamented that entrances at the local Ol-Arabel dispensary and Mochongoi Technical Training and Vocational Centre (TTVC) were inaccessible.

Benard Ruto, a community leader and Benjamin Kemitei, the Mochongoi TTVC Principal, observed that the inaccessible road network was hampering the delivery of crucial services at the health facility and also at the institution.

Residents protested the poor road network along the Seria-Mutitu-Kamailel road was deplorable and no vehicle access to either the health facility or the TTVC.

They pointed an accusing finger to the local leadership for failing to address their plight despite numerous calls.

They added that the Ol-Arabel dispensary lacked medical drugs and electric power, making it difficult to offer crucial services, adding that they have been forced to walk a long distance to seek services.

While waving placards and chanting slogans, the protestors took issue with elected leaders and accused them of sleeping on the job and failing to honour their pre-election pledges.
