Komorege-Mabera road project in Kuria to transform local livelihoods

Residents of Komorege village in Tagare Ward, in Mabera Sub-County, have welcomed the ongoing construction of a new murram road linking their area directly to Mabera town.

Speaking during an inspection led by area MCA Moses Magwe, locals described the road development as a long-awaited project that will transform the economic development of the area.

John Marwa, the residents of Komorege, outlined the challenges they have endured due to poor infrastructure, noting that once the 12-kilometre road is complete, it will significantly ease transportation and improve access to essential services, including nearby health facilities.

The road, which is at 25 per cent complete, was allocated Sh10 million by the Migori County Government to improve accessibility and ease the pain of Kuria farmers who have endured a lot of challenges to transport their farm produce to Mabera and Isebania towns.

Beatrice Robi, a resident of Komorege, was hopeful that the completion of the new road would improve business in the area, provide better access to the Mabera market, and ease the pain of women in accessing maternal health care in the nearby health facilities.

Tagare Member of County Assembly (MCA) Moses Magwe revealed that at least Sh3 million has already been utilised in the ongoing construction of the murram road meant to enhance mobility along the Komorege-Mabera Road.

Magwe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of the people of Tagare Ward through continued development initiatives.
