Kasarini School receives Sh2 million education support

Kiambu Town Member of Parliament (MP) Machua Waithaka presented a cheque of over Sh2 million to Kasarini Secondary School under the Free Day Secondary School Initiative, reaffirming his commitment to accessible and quality education for all learners in the constituency.

The MP, who visited the institution, said the funds are meant to support the full implementation of free day secondary education, ensuring that students learn without financial barriers that previously limited access to schooling.

He emphasized that education in all-day secondary schools within the Kiambu Town Constituency is now free, urging parents and local leaders to work together in identifying and reintegrating learners who have dropped out of school.

“Parents and the area Chief should actively identify all children who have dropped out and facilitate their return to school. No child should be left behind. Education in our day secondary schools is now free,” Waithaka said.

The MP assured residents that his administration remains committed to strengthening education systems and ensuring every child has an equal opportunity to learn and succeed. He noted that the Free Day Secondary School Initiative is part of broader efforts to improve learning infrastructure and enhance academic performance across the constituency.

He further encouraged school administrators to ensure transparent and effective use of the funds for the benefit of learners and improved school operations.

Kasarini Secondary School Head Teacher Madam Teresia expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the funds will significantly ease financial pressure on parents and improve the learning environment.

She also appealed to parents to ensure consistent student attendance and greater involvement in school activities to improve academic outcomes.

The event was attended by Deputy County Commissioner Titus Macharia, Kiambu Sub-County Director of Education Mr. Kigaya, teaching staff, parents, and students.

Deputy County Commissioner Macharia commended the initiative, describing it as a strong example of leadership focused on education and community development. He pledged continued government support for the success of the Free Day Secondary Education Programme.
