Transport along major roads in Bungoma County was on Monday paralyzed as Public Service vehicles pulled out of the major routes in solidarity with the countrywide protest over hiked fuel prices
Drivers of the Public service vehicles packed their matatus at the main bus stop in Bungoma town, leaving passengers stranded.
The drivers who spoke to KNA said they feared for the safety of their vehicles following the nationwide strike called by matatu operators protesting the high cost of fuel.
Passengers who spoke to KNA said they had cancelled their trips, while those covering short distances used motorcycles to their destination.
Most of the petrol stations remained open but made very few sales.
However, business in the town went on normally with major shops and banks open.
