Vihiga County Women Rep empowers local grassroots groups

Vihiga County Women Representative, Beatrice Adagala has intensified her community empowerment initiatives through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) by championing grassroots social development and economic activities.

During her tour at Muhudu Ward, Adagala presided over the distribution of Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) support, highlighting the critical role that organized community groups play in driving regional development.

She highlighted that among the primary beneficiaries of this economic stimulus package, there were several local self-help and welfare groups including Isikhio Welfare Group, Ikoko Bidii SHG, Muhudu Champions Group and Vakuva Imakunda Welfare AMP (Shamakhokho).

Hon. Adagala highlighted that there were additional groups that benefited through tents and chairs of which included, Tuinuane Vihiga Maendeleo, Vihiga SHA Women Group and Stendmawe Boda boda Group.

Hon. Adagala emphasized that this latest exercise is not an isolated event but part of a progressive, county – wide journey aimed at transforming lives across Vihiga County.

She stated that the recent distributions had been built upon previous successful empowerment phases in Muhudu ward which had already seen groups like Jamulongoji Social Welfare, Mulundu Makanyi Welfare, Jivuye Welfare Group, Mercy Women Group, Homwollelo Mulundu Women Group, Mucedu SHG, Kaimosi Complex Welfare, Kaptech Community Health Group and Muhudu Pre- School Welfare.

“Our goal remains clear, to strengthen community groups, support self-reliance, and create sustainable economic empowerment for our people,” stated Adagala.

Hon. Adagala expressed her delight at witnessing these groups receive targeted assistance, noting that such structured interventions are pivotal in equipping women, youth and vulnerable populations with the necessary capacity to launch sustainable income – generating ventures and achieve financial independence.

Local leaders and beneficiaries lauded the consistency of the NGAAF disbursements noting that the sustained focus on grassroots welfare groups provides a dependable safety net and a viable launchpad for local entrepreneurial talent.

Hon. Adagala supported the groups by giving them tents and chairs saying this will empower them economically.
