Vihiga County government has opened the County Condolence Book to the public following the passing of the Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
The County Government has set up a condolence desk at the County Headquarters in Mbale to provide an opportunity for residents and well-wishers to record their messages of sympathy and remembrance for the late leader.
Speaking during the brief ceremony, Deputy Governor Wilberforce Kitiezo said the gesture allows the people of Vihiga to join the rest of the nation in mourning and honouring the former Prime Minister, whose contribution to Kenya’s political and democratic development remains significant.
The Condolence Book will be available to the public daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the seven-day national mourning period.
Members of the public have been encouraged to visit the County Headquarters to sign the book and pay their respects.
