Lokichar sub-county hospital ended the year on a high note after a local medical team performed a maiden caesarean section on December 26, 2025, at the facility’s newly established theatre.
In a remarkable achievement, a healthy baby girl was successfully delivered at exactly 5 pm, weighing 2.6 kilograms at birth. The procedure was made possible by a dedicated medical team comprised of the lead surgeon, Dr. Rosealba Lokel, Starlon Ekiru (assistant), Felisters Ongangi (midwife) and Simon Kabutiei(anaesthetist).
Both the mother, Sylvia Narot and her newborn remain in good health. Lokichar sub-county hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Mathew Bundotich said this was a new dawn for the facility, signifying their growing capacity to offer advanced maternal health services in the area.
