KRA announces executive appointments to strengthen tax collection

By C, KNA

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has made key executive appointments as part of its strategy to enhance institutional capacity, improve service delivery, and drive organizational excellence.

Effective September 11, 2025, Ms. Nancy Ngétich, EBS, has been confirmed as the commissioner for the Shared Services Department. She has been serving in an acting capacity since February 2023, where she spearheaded organizational reforms, aligned human resources with KRA’s 9th Corporate Plan, and promoted technology adoption to support revenue mobilization.

Prior to her current role, Ngétich served as Deputy Commissioner for Policy & International Affairs in the Customs & Border Control Department at KRA.

She also worked as Senior Manager, Customs & Tax Advisory, at Ernst & Young LLP. With extensive experience in customs reforms, trade facilitation, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) negotiations, and East African Community customs policy, she brings a wealth of expertise to her new role.

The appointee is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, and the Kenya Institute of Management.

In the Large & Medium Taxpayers Department, KRA announced that Mrs. Rispah Simiyu, FCCA, EBS, has been seconded to the National Treasury and Economic Planning.

To ensure continuity of leadership, Ms. Doreen Mbingi, Deputy Commissioner for Compliance East & South of Nairobi, has been appointed to head the department in an acting capacity pending a substantive appointment.

KRA congratulated Ngétich and Mbingi on their appointments and called on taxpayers and stakeholders to continue offering their support and collaboration.

“As KRA, we reaffirm our commitment to fulfilling our mandate of revenue mobilization for national development, while delivering efficient, fair, and transparent services to all taxpayers across the country,” the Authority said in a statement.
