Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka on Monday morning led a public participation forum in Emakata Village, Emasatsi Sub-location, Kisa East Ward, to gather residents’ views on development priorities.
The meeting brought together elders, women and youth groups who raised concerns over development projects.
The residents called for more investment in local health centres to ease pressure on existing facilities.
Aseka said the forum was part of his deliberate efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and make development people-driven. “Public participation is a constitutional right. Every project must reflect the real needs of the people, and that is why I am here to listen to you directly,” he told the gathering.
The MP pledged to factor in residents’ contributions during planning and resource allocation and assured them that their concerns would shape upcoming projects in Kisa East Ward and across Khwisero sub county.
Local leaders praised the initiative, saying it promotes inclusivity and transparency in decision-making. They urged residents to take advantage of such opportunities to voice their priorities.
Aseka said he will continue holding similar forums across the constituency to ensure development programmes are aligned with community needs.
He further called for unity and urged locals to play an active role in monitoring government projects to enhance accountability.
